WCCH Announces Promotion of Dale Clark to Chief Operating Officer

Wytheville, Virg. – Wythe County Community Hospital is proud to announce that Dale M. Clark, RPh, MSA, FACHE has been promoted from Assistant Administrator to Chief Operating Officer at WCCH. As COO, Clark will be responsible for hospital operations of both clinical and non-clinical departments. Clark has been WCCH’s Assistant Administrator since 2009 and has been responsible for performance of Pharmacy, Human Resources, Imaging Services, Food & Nutrition Services, Environmental Services and Occupational Medicine.
Clark earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy at Medical College of Virginia. He received his Master of Science in Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. Clark has also participated in additional leadership development programs to include American College of Healthcare Executives, Continuous Quality Improvement Program for Health Systems Management Harvard School of Public Health and Leadership & Mastery, The Health Care Forum.

He holds present and prior appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy, Clinical Affiliate at Appalachian College of Pharmacy Grundy, Virginia and a Clinical Instructor for ETSU School of Pharmacy, Johnson City, TN 2011-12. In 2006, Clark was awarded the Outstanding Business Leadership Award from the Wytheville-Wythe-Bland Chamber of Commerce. He is a member and fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, the Virginia Society of Hospital Pharmacists and Society for Human Resource Management.
He has worked on many projects throughout his career to enhance processes in quality and patient care improvements. He is a past president and member of the Wytheville Rotary Club, past president and board member of United Way Wytheville, board member of Wytheville-Wythe-Bland Chamber of Commerce. A former native of Bland County Dale is married to Debbie Dillow Clark, PT, DPT and they have three children Charles, Caroline and David.
